Students will also be able to observe how the profession of nursing is different in a global perspective. Students will examine the host countries cultural beliefs, values, customs, spirituality and health promotion practices by integrating information learned in the classroom to a global healthcare setting. The mission goal is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the community of El Salvador.

This organization was run by people who not only lived to serve the Lord in truth but also in action through nursing. The passion I experienced and the hand of God on this trip was incredible.

Kayla Ray, Spring Break 2014 Participant
This trip will provide not only academic but spiritual growth. You will discover that God has so much to offer beyond anything we can imagine and He showed me that on this trip. I made what I know will be life-long relationships with the Master Commission Students in El Salvador, my professors, and my peers and I have been forever blessed by this trip.

Spring Break 2014 Participant
Because nursing school requires so much daily time and energy, it was an extreme blessing to participate in a trip with an educational benefit as well as a real chance to give and receive emotionally and spiritually. I was so blessed to connect with the people of El Salvador in the way we did, and I learned so much being in the field the way we were. I think every nursing student should go. It will benefit their educations immensely, and their hearts even more.

El Salvador was a life changing experience. The people are kind, loving, and have faith in God that no one could ever imagine. These people have very little, and yet they have everything because of their strong faith. Jesus was present in every house and in each person I had the pleasure to meet in El Salvador. The trip opened my heart to God’s presence in my life through their eyes each and every day. The people of El Salvador have truly blessed my life. The only difficulty I personally found was the language barrier on the medical aspect. I wanted to do more teaching and health education but it was hard with the language differences. However during prayer there was no language barrier due to the power of the Holy Spirit. Having the opportunity to play sports and help with a kids’ feeding program, or walking into a home where a lady greeted you with tears in her eyes and saying “God sent you guys to me” were just some examples of my life changing occurrence. The most significant incident that really opened my faith in God was when the Master students at Kings Castle draped the flag of El Salvador over our shoulders and they washed our feet. The master students have become friends for life to each of us nursing students. I am grateful for the chance to go to El Salvador due to the blessings the people of the country brought to my heart and to my faith.
